About Hoyt

About HoytIn 1931 Earl Hoyt Sr. formed a partnership with his son Earl Hoyt Jr. to begin Hoyt Archery.

Hoyt went on to produce many firsts in the archery world including designing the deflex-reflex principle, which all bows use; they developed the first “Pistol grip” bow handle. Hoyt also engineered the first stabilizer and produced the first adjustable arrow rest.

In 1972 they developed a bow limb take-down system that accurately aligned the limbs and the riser. Called the Pro Medalist T/D (take-down), two of these bows were used to compete in the 1972 Olympics and both won gold medals.
Hoyt continued their great success with competition bows winning gold, silver, and bronze medals during the next four Olympics and winning more medals in FITA and NAA competitions than any other company.

In 1983 Easton Aluminium purchased the Hoyt Archery Company and the newly formed corporation became Hoyt/Easton Archery USA.

Today Hoyt manufacturers a full range of recurve and compound bows for both hunting and competition and are considered to be among the most innovative archery companies in the world.
